Case of the Mondays

Office Space anyone? If you haven’t seen this movie, I suggest you request it from your local library ASAP.

Today I definitely have a “case of the Mondays”, and right now I am in need of some motivation. It is Monday night. I am still at school, surrounded by a pile of everything I could still be working on… I struggle that way. I know the work of a teacher never ends, and “it will always be there waiting for me tomorrow”. But, I ALWAYS feel guilty when I leave work with so many things left to do.

I am not sure how much longer I will stay this evening, but as soon as I get home I need to find even more motivation. I think I procrastinate the longest on Mondays before actually starting my BBG workout. Today begins week 9. Only 4 full weeks left until I have completed round 1!

I googled a few motivational quotes to help get me through this evening. I’ll just leave them here in case anyone else needs a little pick-me-up.

Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. -Unknown
When you feel like quitting, think about why you started. -Unknown
Do it now. Sometimes “later” becomes “never”. -Unknown

*This last quote is telling me to go home and go workout. Adios!

  1. Oh, I can use these quotes. I’m seeing a PT currently for a knee injury and it’s tough to do my “at home” exercises. That last one is my favorite too. Love the pic of your work space and the quote: “But, I ALWAYS feel guilty when I leave work with so many things left to do.” Somehow we have to overcome that guilt because we always have more work to do. It’s essential to fit in some ME time each day too. Glad you’re leaving to go exercise!

  2. I enjoyed reading your post, as I, too, suffered from a case of the Mondays today. After the staff meeting, I couldn’t take it anymore and bolted out the door. Just like you, though, I’m feeling guilty for the stuff I left undone. Hopefully, Tuesday will bring more motivation. Hope you had a good workout!

  3. I don’t always stay late, but when I do, I feel like I can just never leave. Once I get going, like you said, I know whatever I don’t finish then will just go to be tomorrow’s worry. But you have to get out of there at some point or you’ll go crazy!

Hope you got home, had time to work out and then maybe a little to relax!
